As the cylindrical structure of the silo offers the optimal conditions for the exploration and production of acoustic resonances, the project ‘Wind’ is based and constructed on these particular phenomena.
Defined as the persistence of sound in space, a resonance (or reverberation) is created when a produced sound causes a large number of echoes. Using the sounds of wind as source materials for the production of these echoes, the work integrates both, the sourced-sounds and the echoes, as materials for the composition of the musical piece. It results in a fascinating series of overlapped whistled sounds, developing in times to create overtones and subtle abstract voices.
